Ft. Auir
The only know settlement in the Selvaoscura, a fort run by a joint task force of the elves of Priroda and the Dwarves of Morkehuler an agreement the two made after the Eastern Incursion and another pillar thier peace rests on. This does not mean that the Fort is safe, but probably the safest place in the Magical Wood, defended by units from both armies and several who frequent Selvaoscura and thus can handle themselves. That said the road to the fort is no safer than anywhere else in the deadly forest and just outside it's walls danger lurks.
Not for the Feint of Heart
This isn't exactly a pirate town but the characters you find here aren't much better. You can be assured anyone whose made it this far into the Magical Wood knows how to defend themselves and probably much more than that. There are of course standing army members both from the Elves and Dwarves that make up a garrison at the fort but there are plenty of rough around the edges types. Though making it to the fort is often cause for celebration as it means you've survived and navigated the deadly forest there is a cold, spartan like feel to the fort.
Not your typical wears
The fort does receive supplies, particularly from both armies as the rotate troops in and out of the garrison there. However the economy of the fort and things available in it are very different from a normal town. Some things that a simple regular shop may have in a village might be 10 times the price at the fort, while goods that are considered to be rare, magical or unique might be easily had. This creates things like strange dishes and drinks that are common and some very mundane items being kept under guard by the rotating patrols. It also creates quite the unique market for traders able to get their goods to the fort.
The Bounty Hunter Board
The Fort is known for its Bounty Hunter board, although thats not what it sounds like. Often people who are venturing out into The Selvaoscura will place themselves on a board at the front gate, along with when they expect to return to Ft. Auir and an amount of money. If they haven't returned and taken down the post by that date the bounty is live and resecures from the Fort might leave, follow their last know direction and seek to bring them back to collect their bounty.
